HSBC has hired Joakim Bergander as part of a bid to drum up more debt and treasury business from companies in the financial services sector.

Bergander is joining HSBC's debt and treasury services division from Deutsche Bank. He will head up a small team of bankers managing relationships with companies in the European asset management, banking and insurance.
