HSBC has appointed a new head of securities services in the Americas, tapping a former client executive from BNY Mellon as it works to expand its business in region.

The UK bank has hired Alexis Vasquez Meissner as head of HSBC Securities Services in New York, charging her with starting new sub-custody and clearing services in the US in the New Year, according to a person familiar with the matter.
