HSBC hires Latin American chief economist from Lehman

HSBC Securities has hired Paulo Vieira da Cunha to its emerging markets fixed-income team in New York as chief economist for Latin America.

Vieira da Cunha joins HSBC from Lehman Brothers, where he was a senior Latin American economist with primary responsibility for Brazil and Mexico. In his new role, he will report to Christian Deseglise, head of emerging markets for the Americas.
