HSBC has hired a former Credit Suisse and Macquarie banker as its head of UK equity capital markets and corporate broking, as it looks to build out its core investment banking capabilities in the City.

Antony Isaacs, whose brother Jeremy is the former chief executive for Europe and Asia at Lehman Brothers, joined HSBC Monday, the bank said in a statement. His is the latest senior hire the bank has made in its bid to increase its share of the UK investment banking market.
