HSBC has tapped Bernard Rennell as its chief executive for North Asia, promoting him from his previous role as global head of private wealth solutions. In the new position Bernard will oversee all private banking activity for HSBC's private bank in Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Japan and the Philippines. He will be based in Hong Kong.
