HSBC has made Mark Ramsay temporary global head of equities trading in the absence of Peter Lewis.

Ramsay, the head of planning and strategy for global markets, was acting head of equities prior to the hire of Lewis from SG Securities last year. Lewis is away from the bank for personal reasons. An HSBC spokesman declined comment on when Lewis might return to work.
