HSBC lures senior Greenhill banker for UK client chase

The business services dealmaker will rejoin longtime co-worker and now HSBC vice-chair of global banking Anthony Parsons

HSBC has hired a managing director from Greenhill, the New York boutique bank, to head its business services mergers and acquisitions division.

Ed Welsh will become global head of business services at HSBC, according to a person close to the bank. He will report to the co-heads of corporate finance coverage, Matthew Wallace and Peter Enns.
