HSBC has named a senior dealmaker to lead its coverage of private capital as large investment banks look to drum up more business from increasingly active large investors.

James Horsburgh, who has previously led the UK lender's leveraged and acquisition finance business in Asia, has been promoted to global head of HSBC's private capital group, according to an internal memo seen by Financial News.
