24,000 HSBC private banking client accounts breached

The security of client data held in wealth managers is increasingly vulnerable to hackers say experts, following security breaches affecting 24,000 customers at HSBC's Swiss-based private bank.

This morning the bank apologised to clients, reporting on the extent of a serious data theft affecting 24,000 clients whose data had been stolen by a former IT employee.
