HSBC raises £82.8m for Cattles

Cattles, a UK consumer finance group, has turned to HSBC for the second time in 18 months to lead a share placing as it raised £82.8m (€132m) to finance two acquisitions.

HSBC placed 27.6 million Cattles shares at 300p each, a 5.5% discount to Wednesday's closing price of 317.5p. The bank had underwritten the placing at a minimum price of 290p. HSBC has had a relationship with Cattles since the mid-1980s and was a bookrunner of a £39.3m accelerated bookbuilding in March 2001.
