HSBC rebels contacted 60 bankers for scathing memo

More than 60 bankers with links to HSBC have been contacted by a group trying to oust global banking boss Robin Phillips — as details of one of the most public attacks on the leadership of a City firm in recent times begin to emerge.

The group, which claims to comprise directors and managing directors at HSBC, launched its campaign against Phillips in a scathing letter it said was sent to group's chairman, chief executive and board on August 25.
