HSBC, the biggest UK-listed bank, is pledging to publish a “climate transition plan” in 2023, responding to increased pressure from investors to make progress on environmental promises and decrease its financing of fossil fuels.

In a 17 March statement, the bank said it would also review and update this year its “wider financing and investment policies critical to achieving net zero by 2050”.
