HSBC's global head of external affairs, Katja Hall, has left the bank amid a shake-up of its communications team.

The public affairs division she oversaw is being joined with the Employee Insight and Communications group as a single global communications unit, effective today. It reverses a decision taken by the bank to split those functions when Hall arrived.
