HSBC is understood to have appointed Hugo Heath, former European head of chemicals at Credit Suisse First Boston, as global head of the sector in its corporate, investment banking and markets division.

Heath is the latest recruit to join John Studzinksi, co-head of corporate, investment banking and markets, who is building the bank's investment banking division along with Stuart Gulliver.
