HypoVereinsbank has appointed Stefan Schmittmann to head its corporate customer division, replacing Michael Mendel, who leaves to join Bank Austria's management board.

Schmittmann was head of risk management, having been in the position since 1998. At Bank Austria, Mendel will be responsible for credit risk management.
