‘I wasn’t offered a package’: Deutsche Bank’s London cuts begin

Deutsche Bank staff who were called into meeting rooms early on Monday morning cannot claim to have been surprised.

Details of the German bank’s latest plan to reshape its business had been leaking well before Sunday, when the overhaul was formally announced. But for staff in its London operation, which houses around 7,000 of its 8,000 UK employees and is one of the biggest investment banking employers in the City, this was scant consolation.
