Investment body hails investor impact of falling FTSE CEO pay

The average pay of a FTSE 100 boss fell by 13% to £3.46m last year — the lowest since 2010

The Investment Association says new figures showing that levels of executive pay in the UK are falling is proof that pressure from fund managers is working in the fight against excessive remuneration.

But the organisations responsible for collating the latest figures on the payouts to FTSE 100 chief executives argue the drop has little to do with shareholder engagement.
