IntercontinentalExchange 's second quarter earnings rose 18% as the exchange saw revenue boosted by higher market data and transaction and clearing fees.

The commodities exchange operator said average daily commissions in the over-the-counter energy business totaled $1.6m in the second quarter, up 3% from a year earlier.
