ICG gets fundraising boost from UK government

It joins firms including Haymarket Financial and Ares Management, which have received funds under the Business Finance Partnership scheme

Intermediate Capital Group has become the latest debt specialist to receive a fundraising boost from the UK government, as part of an initiative to increase non-bank lending to mid-market companies.

The London-listed firm said in a trading update on Wednesday that it has received €191 million - or £163 million - of commitments from the Business Finance Partnership. Launched in April 2012, the scheme aims to increase lending to mid-market businesses in the UK through non-bank channels.
