IHS Markit is taking a novel step to improve its carbon footprint. The data provider is investing in a fleet of electric bikes for its London-based staff, to use for travelling to meetings.

The company, which has London offices near Moorgate in the Square Mile, has teamed up with Freebike, a Dutch manufacturer of dockless electric bikes, and expects to roll the initiative out to other cities soon.
