IIF says investors deserve more clout in emerging markets

Institutional investors deserve a bigger say in how companies in emerging markets are run if they are to take more of the risk involved in financing them, the Institute for International Finance (IIF) said on Wednesday.

The IIF, which represents the world's biggest banks, added its voice in support of proposals requiring private sector investors to stop sheltering under the wing of governments and multilateral institutions when emerging markets investments turn sour.
