Impact of Covid-19 on financial statements needs better explanation, FRC says

The FRC reviewed 17 companies’ interim and annual financial statements and found there was 'room for improvement'

The UK’s auditing watchdog has called on companies to do more to explain clearly the impact of the coronavirus on their current performance and their future prospects.

In its 21 July review of 17 companies’ interim and annual financial statements for the year ending March 2020, the Financial Reporting Council found there was “room for improvement” when explaining the effect of the pandemic on going concern disclosures and future outlooks.
