Gartmore, the fund management house, has bolstered its US equities business with the appointment of Gil Knight, a veteran with 33 years' experience, as a senior portfolio manager. Knight will join Gartmore as part of its 30-strong US equities team, which manages around $17.8bn (€14.5bn) of assets. He will be based in Gartmore's offices outside Philadelphia and will report directly to Young Chin, global chief investment officer of equities. Before joining Gartmore, Knight was managing director and senior portfolio manager at MTB Investment Advisors, the US asset mananger, where he ran US equities and small cap growth portfolios.
