Michael Hepher has been appointed independent director and chairman of Lane Clark & Peacock (LCP), the consulting actuaries.

Hepher, an actuary, is a former group managing director of BT. He is a non-executive director of Kingfisher, Canada Life Financial and Telecity, where he is also chairman. He will chair both the LCP board and its remuneration committee.
