Edinburgh Fund Managers has appointed Charles Nunneley as non-executive chairman in an attempt to start filling the void left by a boardroom purge late last year.
Nunnely spent over 30 years at Flemings, primarily in the investment management side of the business and rising to be deputy chairman from 1986 to 1995. He was also the founder chairman of the Institutional Fund Managers Association. In November last year, the then non-executive chairman of EFM, John Wright, resigned from the group board along with Sir Angus Grossart, Donald MacDonald and Johnnie Blair. This paved the way for the executive directors to oust the chief executive Ian Watt.
