In brief: Potto quits Templeton/UK Development Agency tender/Noriba opens in Bahrain

Franklin Templeton Investments has lost its star manager Susan Potto because she has decided to pursue a degree in fine arts.

Potto has been managing the Franklin mutual beacon fund since 1997, which has a five-star rating from Standard & Poor's and Morningstar, the two rating firms. The fund invests in undervalued stocks and is event-driven, looking at mergers and acquisitions as well as investing in distressed securities. She has been replaced by David Winters and Matthew Haynes.
