In brief: SWIP hires/Insight Investment mandate/Atlantis lists China fund

Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (SWIP), has strengthened its UK small-cap team with two hires.

Johnny Russell joins as an investment director from Edinburgh Fund Managers. He will manage the small cap section of several SWIP funds and research the media, entertainment, leisure, chemical and transport sectors. Andy Gray has been appointed similar role, and will research the pharmaceutical, insurance and software sectors. He joins from LeggMason Investors, where he was a fund manager in the UK Smaller Companies Team. Russell and Gray report to Gregor Macdonald, head of pan-European small caps.
