EU research rules could cut independents ‘off at the knees’

The chairman of Europe’s trade group for independent research providers has called for greater clarification on new EU rules designed to put a price on analysts' research, and warned the changes could cut independent houses “off at the knees”.

Speaking to Financial News, Peter Allen, chairman of the European Association of Independent Research Providers, said it did not take a genius to work out that there is probably going to be a lot less money for any research.
