Industri Kapital drives €300m Finnish retail merger

Industri Kapital, the Nordic private equity house, has played architect to the merger of two Finnish retail chains, creating one of the country's leading convenience store groups with sales of more than €1.3bn ($1.63bn).

The retail goods arms of Wihuri, a private family owned company, and Tradeka, a co-operative, are merging to create Finland's third-largest player in the neighbourhood supermarket sector.
