A suggestion from City Minister Lord Myners this month that the investment industry had not done enough to prevent the financial crisis contained a specific criticism as well as a general one.

Myners took particular aim at the Institutional Shareholders' Committee. He said: "I am not sure the ISC has achieved a great deal. I would think it would be hard to show how much influence it has had."
