Looking at the various legislative proposals currently before the US Congress, one wonders if there will even be a derivatives industry in the US in a year’s time.

The three proposals before the House of Representatives and the one before the Senate, to a greater or lesser extent, would fundamentally change the way in which derivative products are traded in the US.
