Infineon to list €1bn chip business outside Germany

German semiconductor manufacturer Infineon said it prefers a non-German listing of its memory chip business, which it is considering floating later this year. It is likely to be valued at €1bn ($1.2bn).

Reuters reports that Wolfgang Ziebart, Infineon chief executive, told shareholders yesterday that he favoured an initial public offering of the chip business but not in Germany where it has no peer group for comparison.
