Inflation rises to 0.7% but still short of Bank of England’s 2% target

UK inflation went up to 0.7%  from 0.5% in October, the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics show.

The increase was driven by price increases in clothing and footwear, up 2.8% on September, and food prices, up 0.1% on September, compared to a fall of 0.6% between September and October last year, the ONS said on 18 September.
