ING Asia Pacific appoints new chief executive

ING, the Dutch investment bank, has appointed Jacques Kemp as chief executive of its Asia Pacific executive committee, after only six months on the company's Hong Kong-based committee.

Kemp has held diverse positions within ING over the past five years, including head of general banking with responsibility for the line management of the corporate and investment banking branch network. He also took over as global head of e-business in May 2001, when former Barings e-business staff were fired and all e-business operations came under ING Group control.
