European banks suspend dividend payments amid Covid-19 crisis

Dutch bank follows European Central Bank's advice to not to pay dividends during the pandemic

A string of European banks have suspended their dividend payments to free up capital during the market downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic. 

ING Group, Bank of Ireland, Unicredit, ABN AMRO and KBC Group have all released statements on 30 March announcing their decisions not to pay anything out to shareholders.
