Reza Vishkai, a former head of structured products and hedge funds at Schroders, the UK-listed fund manager, has been appointed managing director of alternative products at Insight Investment, which is owned by banking group HBOS.

He left Schroders to start his own business in 2003, and has been working with Insight as a consultant for the past four months. Vishkai will lead Insight's multi-manager and private equity teams.
