Insight Investment, the fund management arm of UK banking group HBOS, has suffered another departure with the loss of David Somers, its long-serving senior client servicing manager.

The retirement of Somers, who had been a senior member of the Clerical Medical Investment Management team before it was merged with Rothshild Asset Management in 2003 to create Insight, comes at a difficult time for Douglas Ferrans, chief executive.
