Instinet and Inet pay $1.5m over data charges

Instinet, the electronic broker set to be taken over by Nasdaq, and its trading platform subsidiary Inet, have been fined a total of $1.48m (€1m) for producing inaccurate data about the shares traded on their markets.

Markets are required to publish reports each month providing detailed information about the price and speed at which they execute orders.
