Electronic broker expands dark pool into Europe and Asia amid general shift of trading from public exchanges onto anonymous trading venues

Instinet, the Nomura-owned electronic agency broker, has expanded its range of Europe and Asian dark pools, as investors continue to favour the anonymous trading venues over traditional stock exchanges amid continued market volatility.

The broker said today that it was expanding its VWAP Cross dark pool into Europe and Hong Kong. It already operates the system in the US, Canada, Japan and Korea.
