Intelsat prepares to ignite US high-yield market

Intelsat, the satellite operator owned by private equity firms Apax Partners, Permira, Apollo Management and Madison Dearborn Partners, will open the US junk bond market in 2005 with a $2.55bn (€1.9bn) deal later this month.

It is set to be one of the biggest US junk bonds in recent years, and will dwarf anything yet seen in Europe.
