Interbrew, the Belgian brewer, has launched a second 21.9m Slovenian tolar (€98m) tender bid for Pivovarna Union in the latest twist in its battle for control of the Slovenian brewer.
The Belgian giant is pushing ahead with the bid despite Pivovarna Lasko, another Slovenian brewer, buying up 46% of the target company. Interbrew owns 41%, and both companies have made offers for the shares they do not own.
