Interest seen for BGI unit of Barclays

Barclays is in talks to possibly sell its asset management arm - which could be valued at more than $12bn (€8.8bn) - and further strengthen the bank's finances, people familiar with the matter said.

BlackRock and others are considering bids for the business, known as Barclays Global Investors, the people said. The talks are at an early stage and no deal is imminent.
