Invesco’s Barnett dropped by Edinburgh Investment Trust

Pressure has been mounting on Mark Barnett in recent months, and the fund manager has had to fend off criticism about his investment approach

Mark Barnett, the high-profile Invesco stock-picker, has been sacked from managing the £1.1bn Edinburgh Investment Trust after more than three years of underperformance.

Barnett, a former protégé of Neil Woodford, has been replaced by investment boutique Majedie Asset Management, a specialist in UK equities, according to a statement from the trust’s board on December 11.
