Invesco star Barnett sacked as manager of income investment trust

The decision came after several attempts by Barnett to reassure investors about liquidity management across his funds

Invesco's Mark Barnett has been dropped as the manager of an investment trust he managed for just over two decades, following a period of continued underperformance.

Barnett's removal from the Perpetual Income and Growth Investment trust comes four months after the high-profile stock picker was dismissed as manager of the £714m Edinburgh Investment Trust after three years of poor returns.
