Investec defends salaries despite &quotopaque&quot bonus system

Perry Crosthwaite, chairman of Investec Henderson Crosthwaite Securities, has defended paying former journalist, Matthew Horsman, twice as much as former top ranked analyst Louise Barton, who is suing the firm for sexual discrimination.

Over a four-year period Horsman received a total of £2.2m (£3.4m) in salary and bonuses while Barton received £1.1m.
