Investec, the banking and asset management group, is expanding its US investment banking business by starting up a technology, media and telecoms team (TMT) with six new recruits.

Investec has brought in three former UBS Warburg technology bankers as part of the new team. The hires follow Investec's acquisition last year of PMG Capital, a niche middle-market investment bank with 100 professionals, to create Investec PMG.
