Investec, the specialist banking group, has hired Gerard Hague-Holmes as its new head of compliance for the UK.

Hague-Holmes, who will be based in London, joins from PaineWebber, the US brokerage which was taken over last year by UBS Warburg. He replaces Mort Mirghavameddin, who has become general manager of Investec in the Channel Islands and its unit Guinness Flight Trustees.
