Investec Asset Management has won a £114m (€161m) segregated fixed interest mandate from Highway Insurance, underlining the growing opportunities for external managers to capture insurance company assets.

Highway Insurance is one of the UK's largest motor insurers, and the mandate comprises two portfolios representing both corporate capital and syndicate funds. Both portfolios will be managed against a money market benchmark.
