Investment Association joins assault on audit market

Trade body for fund managers accuses Big Four firms of being only ‘cosily competitive’ and says companies have limited choice

The Investment Association, the trade body for UK fund managers, has joined the attacks on the Big Four audit firms as competition watchdogs embark on a second probe into the sector in a decade.

The IA, which has 250 members responsible for managing£7.7tn of assets, has flagged its concerns about the dominance enjoyed by the largest audit firms, claiming they are only “cosily competitive” with one another.
