The Investment Association, the trade body representing the UK’s £8tn fund management industry, is set to establish a permanent outpost in Brussels — a symbolic move that would signal its intention to remain close to Europe’s political epicentre after Brexit.

The fund association plans to open an office in the Belgian capital to reflect the European footprint of its 200 members, many of which are among the world’s largest asset managers.
